VirtualScopics has built an extensive patent portfolio of image-based biomarker solutions across a broad range of therapeutic areas and imaging modalities. We have the ability to measure clinically and biologically validated imaging biomarkers to assess risks regarding safety, toxicity and drug interactions.
Sponsors seek our expertise and value our assistance in the development of their imaging protocols. While many sponsors have their own in-house imaging team, the majority do not. For these sponsors we act as their imaging experts and help design a customized imaging protocol assessing the objectives of their study and advising as to the determination and selection of appropriate imaging biomarkers.
The choice of biomarkers can differ greatly depending on the phase of trial and it is our expertise across all phases that sets us apart from other imaging core labs. While the majority of our projects incorporate standard measurements (i.e. RECIST in late phase oncology trials), a number of sponsors seek us exclusively for our work with novel biomarkers, particularly in early phase trials. Our willingness to tackle novel imaging studies speaks to our scientific acumen and the confidence we have in our capabilities; a confidence that earns the trust of our sponsors.
